When cropping a photo, both the horizontal and vertical borders move. I want one border to remain stable while I change the other. For example, the vertical sides are correct. But I want to move ONLY the top and bottom of the photo to crop. I can do it on my ancient iPad Mini, but I can’t do it on my iPhone 15 ProMax

Try to drag from the middle of a side and not from a corner. Dragging a corner will preserve the aspect ratio, unless you unlock the aspect ratio by tapping the aspect ratio button 
in the upper right corner and set the aspect ratio to Freeform.

It was the aspect ratio. No idea how that got checked. Thank you.
