Missing distance badges on Apple Watch

Why don’t I earn distance-based awards consistently? I ran a marathon and didn’t get a badge (total distance was 42.7km). I then scrolled back through my workouts and realized this has been happening since at least 2022 (I gave up scrolling after that). I get distance badges every once in a while, but it’s very rare. All tracked on apple fitness on watch. Some are open goal, some are distance goal workouts. Doesn’t appear to have a pattern. Since 2024 I’ve had series 10 watch, before that series 7. Pls see screenshots with one run with the badge symbol and the rest not. Thx for your help!
