My account on my iPhone shows I have used 27.7 of 50 GB. So does my iMac. And yet, Apple tells me that I don’t have enough storage to back up my iPhone. It wants me to upgrade for more storage. Can anyone help me resolve this?

Go to Settings > [name on top] > iCloud > iCloud Backup, and choose the name of the device backing up. You should see the Backup Size and more importantly the Next Backup Size to see how much more it is looking to backup.

What issue do you have purchasing more iCloud storage so you can backup?
I don’t have any issue other than having to pay out more money. Just don’t understand how 23 free GB is not enough for my backup. The phone’s been backing itself up for a long time not. Just stopped doing it two weeks ago. If you can explain this apparent paradox I’d be grateful.
