Can I share an SSD of music files between 2 Macs and have the libraries and playlists stay intact? If so, how?
I'm using a Mac Mini M1 and a MacbookPro M4; both at latest OS

Launch Music with the Option key held down and create a new library on that drive or choose one already copied to it.

2. The existing library won't be replaced in any case. If desired, drag-copy it over and choose it as described above.

Thanks for the quick response. Are you suggesting that I use the existing SSD that works with the Mac mini and create a new library on the SSD? It seemed to me in the past that even when the music files are on an external disc, that the library resides on the Mac.
I have an active library on the Mac Mini which has multiple playlists, which I'd like to keep. Wouldn't your solution replace the library and lose the Playlists?
