Pictures in messenger won’t open

Try to open pics in messenger after an up date

What happens when you try? I'd first simply restart the app, then restart the phone if that fails.

After updating iPad and phone. Phone erased all pictures in messages and on iPad won’t open pictures and says error in downloading. Restarting phone didn’t do any good.
