How to delete the Floating toolbar in mail app

Hello, how do I delete or disable the new floating toolbar in the mail app, at the bottom? It’s in the way and disrupting! My phone must’ve automatically updated, within the last few hours. This is the first time I’ve seen this floating toolbar. I have an iPhone 16 pro max, iOS 26

I have my email set to List View and have turned off show contacts.

Is there something I’m missing?

If you are referring to the new Search and toolbar, then you cannot.

It provides access to search, filters and to start a new email message.

Deleting it would render all those functions inaccessible.

You can offer Apple feedback if you would like to see it changed.

Then we seem to be talking about different toolbars.

The toolbar seen during creation of a new email appears right above the keyboard. And willl, font, attachments, makeup and Apple Intelligence options.

It cannot be removed either.

If you tap on somewhere where it's not needed it should go away. Such as on the From line or, Subject, etc...

While in the body of an email you are writing, it offers options for that email. Once again removing it would render those options inaccessible.

You can always scroll up and down the email to see anything behind it.

Like I said, you can offer feedback to Apple ID if you'd like it changed.
