Hello. I have a new iPhone 17 pro and was so excited that I can switch between front and usual camera. But it doesn’t work, the switch button disappeares soon I start the video. I already deactivated “lock camera” in settings. Not helping. thank you for your help.

You can't switch between front and back on the fly during a video, but you can use both at the same time. (Your reaction is inset into a corner of the main video.)

You can tell Apple that you would like to be able to switch cameras while video recording by posting through their designated portal for such suggestions: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
Don't expect any direct response, but they tell us they have people assigned to read input submitted there and keep the decision-makers informed of what's being said there.
But that is really sad in my opinion. Thank you for your answer.
