Missing old messages in Messages app on iPhone 14 after iPhone 17 upgrade

I recently upgraded my iPhone 14 to the new 17. After migrating all of my data, I noticed that a lot of my messages that are very old are no longer showing up if I go into the Messages app. If I scroll down to the very bottom, it ends around 2022. However, if I do a search on someone who I messaged with before that date, I can see the messages there. It’s very weird. I know that they are there, but I’m not sure how to access them other than through search. Any idea how to fix this?
