How to set Adobe Acrobat reader as the default app for PDF attachments in Mail on iPhone 17?
Hi,
I recently upgraded to an iPhone 17 running the latest version of iOS.
When I tap a PDF attachment in the built-in Mail app, it always opens in Apple’s built-in preview (Quick Look).
I’d like PDFs to open directly in Adobe Acrobat Reader instead.
However, I can’t find any option to change the default app for PDFs, and the “Share → Open in Acrobat” method works but is inconvenient every time.
Is there any way—either through system settings, Shortcuts, or app configuration—to make Mail open PDF attachments directly in Adobe Acrobat by default?
If not, can Apple confirm whether this limitation is intentional in the latest iOS or if there’s a workaround planned?
Thanks!
