Accessing .exe files to save DSLR photos on MacBook Air M4

Hi All,

I am trying to save pictures from my DSLR on my MacBook Air M4. However the file is in the .exe file and I am unable to access the folder because of the same.

If anyone has an idea as in how to access this folder and save the pictures. Please advise.

What file suffix are you expecting these files to have? Something as simple as replacing the .exe with .jpeg or.nef (if, for instance you think they are Nikon raws) or whatever will usually solve this issue.

Possible cause: storing the files on a FAT formatted Fisk for a long period of time can cause the files to lose their suffix and the OS guesses that they are .exe

Which file from where? A screenshot would be informative.

Usually .exe files are Windows-only and not useful on a Mac.

But AFAIK there are self-extracting .zip files that use .exe extension. So you might try to change the extension to .zip and try if the Mac can uncompress that when double-clicked.

...or are you just seeing exe in the file's icon or elsewhere on the file list? That can happen with extension-less files when the Mac has no idea what app can open it.
