Why won't my Google Chrome go through with my searches?

I load up Chrome just fine, it is until I wan't to search something up that isn't school related and it keeps loading forever. When it finally finishes loading it gives me a screen stating it took too long to load, and when I try to click the "reload" button, it doesn't work. This occurs on my Windows PC as well but worse.
