iPhone Mirroring stopped working after AppleCare+ subscription change - same Apple ID on both devices

Details:

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with iPhone Mirroring on macOS after making changes to my AppleCare subscription, and I'm hoping someone can help.

Background:

  • My iPhone and Mac were previously signed in with the same Apple ID (non-US region)
  • iPhone Mirroring was working perfectly before
  • I temporarily signed into a US Apple ID on my iPhone to subscribe to Apple Care One
  • I discovered I couldn't sign out of the US ID without losing the coverage
  • I cancelled Apple Care One and worked with Apple Support to repurchase AppleCare+ as a regular subscription instead

Current situation:

  • The new AppleCare+ subscription doesn't appear under either of my Apple IDs (neither the US ID nor my primary non-US ID)
  • Both my iPhone and Mac are now signed in with the same non-US Apple ID
  • Despite using the same Apple ID on both devices, iPhone Mirroring no longer works

What I've tried:

  • Verified both devices are on the same Apple ID
  • Checked that all system requirements are met (same WiFi, Bluetooth enabled, etc.)

Has anyone encountered a similar issue after changing AppleCare subscriptions? Could the subscription change have affected some backend account linking? Any suggestions on how to restore iPhone Mirroring functionality would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.5

Become familiar with this: iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac - Apple Support

It does indicate: Important: To use iPhone Mirroring, it must be available in your country or region. iPhone Mirroring is currently unavailable in the European Union.

So that is an important requirement you don't meet since you are using non-US Apple ID.

Perhaps it worked earlier when the long list of Apple requirements for mirroring was more flexible or shorter, but when you signed out of and back into your Apple ID, it checked the latest requirements and you did not pass or used to pass but no longer do. I don't think AppleCare has anything to do with this: some users don't have any AppleCare at all but can still use mirroring.

iPhone Mirroring can be used with only one Mac and one iPhone at a time. Your devices must meet these requirements.

I want to add that, the other iPhone works pretty well at mirroring and My Account is not from the European Union.

I don't know if the European Union is the only place affected by restrictions. You did not indicate where you are so not sure how to assist here, although I have only had U.S. Apple IDs so maybe I'm not well qualified here to comment.

"Phone Mirroring can be used with only one Mac and one iPhone at a time."

You mention your other phone. Are you using two phones at once?

I cannot change my connection to my primary iPhone. I am pretty sure not thing else had changed, but the AppleCare+ subscription.

It's confusing for the reader here to tell how many Apple IDs you have or are using, and on which devices, how many devices, and which are non-U.S. and what non-U.S. region it or they are in.

I suppose it is possible that signing up for AppleCare+ requires specifying an Apple ID and somehow that resulted in some sort of routine checking or audit within Apple's data base that somehow you did not pass. But I can't tell which criterion that might be.
