Not receiving Airtag left behind on new iphone 17

I have a couple of AirTags and since upgrading my phone to a 17 I am no longer receiving the notification when an airtag is left behind. I have checked that 'notify when left behind' is turned on and have removed and readded the tag to the phone to see if that makes a difference but still not getting the notification. Any ideas on how to fix this.
