Messages Backgrounds (iOS 26/iPadOS 26/macOS Tahoe)

Why are Conversation Backgrounds in Messages not exclusive to the user? Seems like we’re forced to share them.

There should be some kind of exclusive/non-exclusive toggle if we don’t want to share the same background. Otherwise (currently), I’m put in the position of offending the op of the chosen/current background. I now have backgrounds that are too busy to see the actual texts &/or that I just don’t like, but I can’t really tell them that. This applies across one/one or group text threads.

We should be able to choose. Not sure why Apple did this?
