@Owl-53: yup, I forgot to mention this is an Intel-based laptop and you are correct, these issues with Sequoia do not always affect Intel machines (my wife has an identical laptop and her problems are very different than mine).

Sorry to say this but Apple seems to have " dropped the ball " when it comes to the Intel Computers
I am aware, there might be another update for Sequoia to arrive sometime soon
