iPhone Air Magsafe battery not charging - 0% battery, no lights

My iphone air battery doesn't want to charge I'm connecting it to a 80w charger, USB-C etc, but the orange light doesn't come on and it's not charging up. When I connect it to my iPhone Air, it discovers it, but says 0% battery - so it's dead. But it won't charge when I plug it in.

What's the deal here? It's brand new, I got it a few days ago, but it seems like it's just dead
