Apple CarPlay no longer playing text messages in Kia EV6 after Apple ios 26.0.1 update

Apple CarPlay is still connected to the Kia EV6, and I still receive a notice of a text message on the screen. However, it will no longer "voice" or "play" the text message since the IOS 26.0.1 update. If I hit Replay to see if I can hear the message that way, nothing happens. I have checked to ensure message notifications are still ON for Apple CarPlay, and nothing has changed there. Very annoying to have functionality taken away. What else should I try?
