Turning off iMessage on Mac to receive messages only on iPhone
how do I turn messages off on my laptop? I only want them on my iphone.

Settings->Apps->Messages->scroll down to and tap “Text Message Forwarding”->turn off Mac.
On your Mac...
Launch the Messages app->Settings->uncheck any entries for “You can be reached for messages at"
