Custom audio settings for AirPods

We are have a new Macbook air M3. running on Tahoo 26.01. Still I get : custom settings are only available with apple and beats headphones. I have airpods 3. It really make me angry because it works on iOS. I have a hearing problem and the custom settings makes it possible to listen to music and speech. Can’t use my MacBook now. What is the problem? It never worked on any of our MacBooks.
