I tried all described solutions nothing worked.
Here are my details: I have a Mac Book Pro 2018, 13inch, 2,3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5. Trying to get the Touch ID working on the Magic Keyboard 2024 with Touch ID. It accepts only the touch ID on my Mac. Any help appreciated.
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 15.7
The Touch ID feature of that keyboard is not supported on Intel based Macs.
The keyboard will work otherwise, but not the Touch ID function.

Take it in for a hardware issue—
In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment
Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"
