Break a table into parts

I have a long table I would like to break up into two parts, either by a line break at a specific row, or just cutting into two tables, but I can't figure out how to do either. Am I missing something (I hope)?

Tables in Pages are immutable — you cannot divide one into additional tables.

You can select the rows that you want to populate into a new table. Then cut (cmd+X) those rows from the donor table, and elsewhere in the Pages document, press cmd+V to create a new table with the donor rows in it. Do this as many times as you need to move original content in other tables.
