After installing iOS 26, an app got access to entire gallery, despite setting restrictions

After installing iOS 26 an app, X, started to have access to my entire photo gallery - despite having it restricted to “none” or “restricted”.

I had it set to “restricted “ before installing the new iOS. Now, despite having now changed it to “none” - it shows the entire gallery from the start.

Other apps work fine: when restricted they ask to “manage access” to show the full gallery.

I have changed the settings, restarted the device several times - no change.
