when the computer locks it used to be unlock-able by using my password. now it isn't. If I try to unlock it I have to use my password but the fingerprint unlock works for all passwords once the computer is unlocked. I recently updated my MacBook Pro (2019 15 inch) to Sequoia 15.7.1
It could be related to the update but I have no idea if that has caused this
anyone have any ideas?

this problem seems to be more permanent. it happens EVERY TIME the MacBook is closed and opened. but thanks for your offer of help.
