How can I fix MacBook Pro not recognizing external CDW?

I just purchased an external CDW device my MacBook Pro doesn’t connect or initialize it. How do I correct this?

some optical drives require more power than the usb ports can provide


my asus bluetooth burner comes with a cable like this

then it can be connected to 2 usb ports to get enough power or an usb port and in my case an ac charger with usb connector in it.


but of cause your drive could also just be defect, you could test it with other computers any would do windows, linux or macs
