Sharing photos from iPhone 16 Pro to iMac with Monterrey 12.7.6

I am unable to use Airdrop to transfer photos from iphone16 Pro to Mac running Monterey 12.7.6, but able to airdrop photos from Mac to the phone 16 Pro. Why is this?

I tried to pair the two devices but kept getting a message from the iPhone16 Pro that the 'device is not supported'. During the process of pairing, I also noticed that the devices recognized each other, but just unable to sustain a connection when trying to pair (after their respective codes were received). This pairing process was being done on a WIFI, so, there is no interruption during the pairing procedure.

@36ch posted the same question not too long ago in 'Photos' section. I didn't see any follow-up response to resolve the issue. I wonder if there were anymore info on this?
