Burning Music to CDR error

Have had no issues burning music to an external CD-R drive but now repeatedly getting a Middle Write error... and alert that disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0xFFFFFFFF8002006E).

This happens on two different drives, with different brand discs, and when trying to burn a Playlist from Music, or just the tracks from Finder.

Process of elimination (see above) is telling me its an OS change, but any help or guidance would be gratefully appreciated...
