iPhone 17 won't send sound to Bose headphones

My Bose 700 headphones paired successfully with my phone, and when I turn on Spotify or other music apps it looks as if sound is being sent to my headphones, but there is no sound at all. Anybody experience a similar problem and/or have a solution?
