I need to get my older iphoto library onto my newer (Ventura) imac. The message comes up that i need to use Monteray to have access to the library.
Please advise.

Since iPhoto was discontinued 10 years ago, I think that Ventura won’t open iPhoto Libraries, but you can use Photos’ File>Import to import the pictures into Photos. You will lose the structure of events and such, though.
The trusted 3rd party app PowerPhotos ($40) will import iPhoto Libraries into Photos preserving much of the structure. PowerPhotos is handy for lots of other stuff, as well.

iPhoto will not run on Ventura, but have you tried opening the library with Photos, which I believe will convert it to a format appropriate for the newer app.
