SIM card locks overnight after iOS 26 update

After updating my iPhone to iOS 26, I started experiencing a strange issue at night.

When I leave my phone charging overnight, in the morning the SIM card is locked and I have to re-enter the SIM PIN.

It looks like the phone resets the baseband or network module during the night, even though the device itself hasn’t restarted.

This never happened before iOS 26.

I rely on SIM PIN for security, so disabling it is not an option. Please check this bug.

Same problem with Iphone 15. It's unnerving. After the last update it doesn't happen every single night, just around twice a week, but it still does. They need to solve this! With old parents you can't have your phone shutting down randomly when it feels like doing it.

hello,

I have the same problem with my iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 26.1, when I wake up almost once a week I find the iPhone with the sim needing to re enter the PIN code to re connect to the network .

The iPhone was connected to its 18W charger during the night so I suppose it is resetting during the night …

do you know when will a fix be released ?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the phone is usually on charge when this happens. I will report it to Apple as you suggested. I’ll also try using eSIM to see if it helps.
