I cant do backup because i need my old phone’s code

Hi, yesterday i’ve bought a new iPad and i wanted to do a backup on it. A few years Ago i used to have na iPhone, which after 2 years i did a fabric reset on and gave it to my friend. Now i want to do a backup on my iPad, but i cant because i need to type in my „iPhone code” which i dont have, because its my friend’s now and there isnt my account logged there😭 what can i do to finally do the backup??? (The iPhone is not on my Apple account btw)

Your post is extremely confusing. I’ll try to state your question as best I understand it, but I may well be wrong.


You purchased a new iPad. You had an iPhone years ago, which was backed up to a computer or iCloud before you cleansed it and gave it away. You’re now trying to restore this backup to your iPad, and have an issue because your iPhone is required in the process of identifying you.


Two-factor authentication requires you to have a trusted device available to prove your identity. Your trusted device list has not been kept current.

Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support
