After updating to Tahoe, USB devices connected via USB hub are no longer recognized

As the title says, after updating my Macbook Pro to Tahoe neither my external mouse or keyboard are being recognized. They are both connected via a port hub that is also used to connect the external monitors, which work fine.

I've regularly had issues with the Macbook failing to recognized these USB devices, similar to as described in this existing thread. However, I was always able to fix these issues by unplugging and replugging in the hub or if that didn't work, fully restarting the Macbook and then reconnecting the hub. But since automatically updating to Tahoe last night, neither of these solutions work any longer. As of right now, the only way I can use my laptop is by using the built-in trackpad and keyboard which completely breaks my current setup.

Is there any way to address this? My Macbook has an Intel processor, so setting "System Settings->Privacy&Security->Allow accessories to connect->Ask every time" as suggested in the previous thread above isn't an option.

I'm having a similar problem with an OWC Thunderbolt dock, although it only afflicts my iPhone. Since the Tahoe update, my phone is not mounted by Finder (although it does charge) and is not accessible by Image Capture or Xcode. Yet a thumbdrive plugged into the dock mounts just fine.

Plugging the phone into the computer with the same cable causes it to mount, so it's not the cable.

I do experience the same issue. I have a MacBook Pro M4 and after I updated to MacOS 26 my monitor and webcam which are connect via Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Dock Slim Hub Pro are not being recognized anymore.

When I plug the monitor into my MacBook directly it works however I use my Mac in clamshell mode so my whole setup is messed up now.

I just updated to MacOS 26.0.1 but the problem still persists.

Having a very similar issue right now. Just updated to Tahoe 26, and my Baseus multi-port usb-c dock which was working absolutely fine just stopped being detected post update, immediately. Non-existent in the system report.

Every single peripheral is connected to that dock, now im currently on hdmi to a monitor and connecting my keyboard directly to my Mac mini to type this.

Any fixes yet?

Same here with Nedis USB-C 7 port hub, working fine on Sonoma, but after update to Tahoe no longer working. Tried every obvious solution (reboot- disconnect hub - reconnect etc). Usb-C hub is visible in system properties and also usb-drives connected to hub are visible there. However in finder they are not showing as external drive (the setting to show external drives in finder is ticked). apple device is iMac M1. update to MacOS 26.0.1 did not solve the issue.

Have a CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 Element with ext. Drives for back up connected to a MacMiniM1. Since Tahoe after automatic backup + unmount + PowerOff the drives AND then PowerOn the next day the drives are not recognized. Not in Diskmananager etc.

After restarting the Mac the drives appear. Backups etc. run fine.

back-up ends+unmount+poweroff I cannot get access back until restart…

sounds like the same sort of issue mentioned here

This is the most annoying bug I ever had since I am using a Mac. Restarting it every single time when I connect it to my docking station or to an external display is a pain, but what makes me even more worried is that I cannot see that this issue has been noticed by Apple and therefore I am not sure when a fix is going to be delivered. Have you seen any update on this?

Massive issues for me and cannot get my system to recognize my keyboard or mouse via USB or Bluetooth. I can’t get past setup screen now and extremely frustrated. I didn’t even download the first version. I downloaded whatever version was out on Friday night and my work is at a standstill right now. I have logi keyboard / mouse and Apple ones and nothing working for me. My desktop is useless right now. Moving to an old MacBook for now with Sierra. Not upgrading to Tahoe until this is resolved.

Bummer, man. I didn't have this particular problem (but have other Tahoe connectivity issues) and would just reiterate the good advice given elsewhere in this chain, keep complaining to Apple via the Product Feedback - Apple URL that was given earlier. And not just once. Every time you try something and it doesn't work, complain again... Create volume on the issue. Good luck!
