Finder Sidebar icons for SSDs shows wrong icon
I am running Tahoe for my MacOS. In the Finder Sidebar, the icons for my external SSDs are appearing as Hookmark icons rather than a SSD icon. How do I fix this?

Hookmark is an app that is installed on my computer. The only way to get rid of the Hookmark icons is to go to System Settings > Extensions > Hookmark, and then click the "i" button (information). Then turn off "File Provider" and then relaunch the Finder. As you can see from the screenshot below, turning off the File Provider disables the ability to "see local files and remote storage files in one view in Finder." It's not the end of the world by disabling that, but it would be nice if I didn't have to disable the Finder Provider feature in Hookmark.
I realize I can also hide the icons of the SSDs in the sidebar, but again, that's not really fixing the root problem.
You asked if this affects performance in any way. No, it doesn't; it's just a little bit of a nuisance.
I've been reading this thread. Earlier I saw that the icon problem affected different applications, so I concluded the problem was with the OS. I was wrong about that. It appears that each app causing the problem will need its own fix. There are definitely change in the way Tahoe handles icons. (for example, I had to clear the icon cache -- aliases weren't working right.)

For what it’s worth:
“Thank you for reporting the issue where external drive icons in the Finder sidebar are replaced by DxO PureRAW icons after installing macOS Tahoe. The fix is already scheduled and will be included in the update planned for December 9.”
Do we assume this quote came from DxO PureRAW...?
I see no reference, no link
is this personal communication with DxO PureRAW you do not say.
But you have to decline the finder extension during the install process.

Sorry, but I tried relaunching the Finder and that didn't fix the problem.
My fault, I had thought Hookmark was a typo (Bookmark), not a the correct spelling of an extension that seemingly needs to be updated for Tahoe compatibility.
Since this problem randomly affects users and since the "wrong" icon can be from any of a number of applications, it's hard to image that developers are the culprit. They'd all have to be doing the same wrong thing.
Whatever is displayed in the Tahoe Finder sidebar, you cannot change its image anyway. All of my mounted SSD drives display in the following representation:

I have the same problem, except the icons that show on my external drives are for a photography app called DxoRaw.
I just updated to Tahoe 26.0.1 and that didn't change anything.
Same problem here, but with the New File Menu app...
Same here, but with Sentinel One
There is really no basis for claiming that the app(s) need to be updated. Given what we do see reported, we do not have enough information to know what is wrong.
If this could possibly have any relevence, I have the same wrong DxO PureRaw icon on the sidebar.
I just submitted this as a bug to Apple Feedback.
Same issue but with Sync.com app icon.
@mhtemple - Since upgrading to Tahoe I have the same issue, with the DxO PureRaw icon displaying beside each external disk in Finder
