Magic Trackpad 2 is too sensitive

I am on a Mac Studio running Sequoia using a Magic Trackpad 2. I am constantly dealing with the results of very light finger brushes on the trackpad as I work. It results in all kinds of bad behavior with things jumping around because it thinks I am clicking or dragging. In the settings for the trackpad click is set to firm and tracking speed is at the central setting. Everything else is off except Secondary click is set to click with two fingers. Under Scroll & Zoom, only Natural scrolling is set. Everything is set to Off under More Gestures. Bringing up "Accessibility Shortcuts", nothing is set.--Light finger brushes are inevitable with a trackpad. It should be possible to set the trackpad to require some minimum reasonable pressure before it responds to anything.--Is this a software or a hardware issue? It's been with me through multiple operating systems and at both home and work.

Mac Studio, macOS 15.6

I'm afraid that's the way the Magic Trackpad is designed. On my Magic Trackpad 2 (rechargeable, Lightning port), the lightest touch on the surface is enough to make it react. I have similar settings as yours.

Depending on the application I use (and what I'm trying to do), I also use a Magic Mouse 2. Might this be something you'd consider? Both tracking devices are active at the same time and I just jump from one to the other.
