tried all the internet suggestions but still can't find the eject button, which doesn't exist on the magic keyboard.
just that someone gave me 2 cds that I am unable to listen to because there is a cd stuck in the cd part of the imac

If the CD contains a filesystem, and is recognized as a volume, you should be able to eject it using its Desktop icon or its entry in the sidebar of Finder windows. (Assuming your Finder preferences are set to show CDs/DVDs there.)
Another thing you could try is holding down the mouse button while restarting the Mac.
You should be able to eject it from Disk Utility, which shows all mounted volumes and has "eject" for each.
I am trying but so far no success. I tried with the restart and holding down the mouse, it made a noise from the cd player but didn’t eject it.
I’ll try again tomorrow.
