No timestamps when trimming an audio recording in Quicktime 10.5 Sonoma

An earlier post who got no response:

“Is it just me, or is it the most blatant software oversight of all time that Quicktime doesn't show you the time frame and duration of a clip while trimming an audio file?”

QuickTime 7 used to be fantastic and was so much more userfriendly.

I just need to trim an audio recording at 39'06 but since no timestamp is being displayed in the trim mode in QuickTime 10, it is simply impossible. Why?

Unfortunately QT7 does not work on Sonoma/M3 Pro .
