Disney shows HDCP error with Lightning to HDMI adapter after iOS 26 update

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using my iPhone 14 Pro with a Finlux 32 FFD 5520 (Full-HD/1080p) TV via the official Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter for a few years. Until recently, Disney+ worked fine on this setup.

A few weeks ago, Disney+ started showing only a black screen when I tried to play content. After updating my iPhone to iOS 26, the behavior changed: instead of a black screen, I now get an HDCP error message from the Disney+ app.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Restarted all devices (iPhone, TV, adapter)
  • Swapped HDMI cables
  • Tried different HDMI ports on the TV
  • Reinstalled the Disney+ app

None of these steps helped. Interestingly, Apple TV+ and Netflix both work perfectly with the same setup, so the issue seems specific to Disney+.

Has anyone else experienced this problem after updating to iOS 26? Could this be a compatibility issue with the Lightning to HDMI adapter, or something Disney+ changed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
