Music app UI issues after macOS Tahoe update

Does anyone else see the music app's UI go crazy weird after updating to macOS Tahoe?

mainly with the header in the full screen where the top bar is just empty

when the queue is opened the header of that portion is stuck at a position even after scrolling through it

the music history is lost.

I don't know it's just weird and troublesome, not liking it at all, apple please do something

or just hire me, I might have a few great ideas for the music app. I can share my resume if needed XD

This might help with your Album Art but no guarantees

Here's a workaround. Per tidbits.com (link below), you can disable Liquid Glass on a per-app basis. Stop the Music app, open the Terminal app and enter the command

defaults write com.apple.Music com.apple.SwiftUI.DisableSolarium -bool YES

then restart the Music app. This will revert the two most noxious changes to the app in my eyes: returns the controls to their rightful place at the top of the window, and restores the status bar at the bottom of the playlist in "View as Songs" mode.

You can revert to the godawful Liquid Glass nonsense by repeating the process and replacing YES with NO, if such a perverse urge should occur to you. More details about the process (and options to implement this system-wide) available at this link (many thanks to TidBits for publishing this):

Apple Music is still, after two or three days, populating my up next feed with music of its own choosing. Usually albums that I have recently played. It wipes out what I have chosen to play when it does this. I then have to clear what it thinks I should listen to and choose what I want all over again. It's gotten very old. There are so many bugs I've come across and continue to find. iTunes is looking better and better.

The music app has seemingly gone rogue. I have many playlists. The app gives one the opportunity to add a photo, but this photo disappears on (just one, at this time)one of my playlists. I am able to add a photo, but it vanishes after a minute or so. I have tried a couple of different ones, but the result is the same. So I have ended up with the default one in the app. I hate stuff that does not work. I want to NOT be thinking so much about stuff that does not work. Anyone else?

The album artwork is not syncing to my iPhone. I have tried uninstalling the music app on my phone and reinstalling then resyncing all music, but only the music that I purchased in Itunes album art shows on the phone. All other album covers are still on the Macbook air. When I resync it shows that album artwork is being copied over on the progress bar but when finished syncing it is still absent on the phone. Is Apple not supporting any music that wasn't purchased in the Itunes store now?

I found that if you are adding a link the has something to do with the question that was asked, the moderator will allow it but if doesn't have anything do do with the question then the mod. will delete it and if you adding a lin it is advisable to put it through the Add Link on the bar below using the chain link icon.

I can live with the bugs. Music has been buggy since it replaced iTunes several years ago, but I stick with it because I can't live without the granular controls in Smart Playlists.

But the new UI — bugs completely aside — is a usability nightmare. The new control bar might (but only might) be OK for tiny MacBook screens, but hiding vital controls like Volume behind a click is a massive waste of screen real estate on a 27" Studio Display, and a waste of users' time.

I only bring up these gripes because I'm in search of workarounds that Apple seems to have disabled in Tahoe 26.1. Since the Terminal command for the old Music UI is gone, does anyone know of any software fixes? I'd been hoping that TinkerTool would have something, but no luck so far.

Anyway, good luck withe fixing those bugs! This user gave up a long time ago, because that's when Apple did, too.

Does anybody have a fix for deleting a song from a playlist? I read several threads that said I needed to be in Playlist view to delete a song from a playlist. It didn't work. And then it didn't work some more. And then I looked at the dates on the threads. Early 2024! Grrrr. The only option I am presented with in Tahoe is removing the song from the library. WTH Apple? We are talking about the removal of the simple, elegant use of the delete key to remove a song from a playlist here.

If you do not let the intelligent playlist update automatically, you can add or remove titles like in any other playlist after it is composed automatically. However, there is a menu command to fill the playlist again according to the rules. So it is kind of a hybrid between a true intelligent playlist and a normal playlist.

A use case could be that you want an intelligent playlist containing your favorites least played. However you do not want to have more than one title by the same artist in the list. It is not possible to build rules for that. Therefore I remove titles from the same artist manually. Next day, I let the playlist update again.
