Photos received via iMessage saved in Photos on iPhone and Mac are black

Received text message with 10 photos from family member. Downloaded and saved these to my Photos, which I access from my iPhone 13, iOS 18.6.2 and my iMac, running Ventura version 13.7.8. These were not saved as PDF's. I initially could see all ten photos in the text, and downloaded them which adds them to my Photos Library. Now I can only see 5 of the 10, the other 5 are totally black. When I look at them in the text message 5 are visible and 5 are blurred out. It is a possibility that the 5 blurred photos were shared with the person we received all 10 from. Have not experienced this before, does anyone have any way to deal with this so I can see / print the photos.
