iCloud calendar and invitations in the past

I place all my activities in the calendar. For me it works to be able later to look back on what I did on a specific day (unfortunately I forget a lot).

Yes I tried different apps but the simplicity of the calendar app is for me just right.

For example, I go for a walk from 1 till 2. When I get back I’ll write it down in the calendar.

So far so good.

Some time ago it was no problem to add someone else with an invite. The other person would receive the calendar invite, click accept, and got it in their calendar (for both future and past events)

At some moment this stopped working for events in the past. So for that walk, if I send the invite before 2, the other person sees the invite and can accept. If it’s after 2 the invite doesn’t show up at all (while I get the option to send the invite, nothing happens).

Also when an existing invite (in the past) is changed, this invite is not changed in the calendar of the other person.

So question is, is this changed by design, am I doing something wrong or is there any setting that should be changed so the other person will receive the invitation or changes from time in the past.
