MacOS Sequoia Calendar app not updating Exchange events

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Exchange and the Mac Calendar app on macOS Sequoia (version 15.5) that I hope someone here can help with or has encountered.

Issue summary:

When I respond to Exchange calendar invitations via Mac Mail—whether Accept, Decline, or Maybe—the response correctly updates on the Exchange server, however, the Mac Calendar app does not reflect these updated RSVP statuses. Instead, events continue to show as accepted regardless of my actual response. Further, I cannot delete these events. Refreshing calendars for the Exchange account does not correct this, nor does killing exchangesyncd. The only temporary fix I've found is to disable and then re-enable the Exchange account in Internet Accounts, which forces a full resync—but this is inconvenient and not sustainable.

What I’ve tried:

  • Changed the refresh from Push to Every 5 minutes for the Exchange account (no change).
  • Manually refreshed calendars multiple times.
  • Tested on two separate Macs with fresh user accounts; the problem is consistent on both.
  • Confirmed via Outlook that the RSVP status is correctly updated on the Exchange server after responding in Mail. iOS Calendar is also showing the correct response.
  • Force quit exchangesyncd (no change)
  • Toggled the Exchange account off/on in Internet Accounts to temporarily fix the issue.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or found a more permanent solution? I saw an older post titled "Mac Calendar not syncing with Exchange on Ventura," but none of those solutions worked for me. I’d appreciate any insights or advice.

Thank you!
