There are grey/silves marks on my airpod charging pin and i hope that this isn't because the coating on the pin wore out. i want to be able to fix this sooner rather than later because my airpod isn't charging.
Try gently rubbing them with a rubber pencil eraser. Use light pressure and see if that will remove the substance that is on the pins. Don't use anything that is more abrasive. Here is a support article but it does not cover the pins on the stems. You could also try to dampen a clean lint-free cloth with isopropyl alcohol and clean the pins with that.

Cleaing AurPods:
Don't push hard, but try using some Q-Tips for this. As for the inside of the charing port, use a toothpick and see if you can slowly tap on any debris with the tip of it, and the pull it out quickly.
It doesn't seem like it does anything to get it off, i don't believe its debree.
