Will disabling iCloud backup on iPad affect data transfer from iPhone?

iPad Will Still Get Files:

Items will still go to it; your iPad just wont be backup up in iCloud.

Download All of iCloud:

So, you might want to see just how much space is taken by iCloud Drive. Download all of iCloud Drive to an external hard drive, and then trash all of iCloud Drive, once the backup is complete. Turning off iCloud back up on your iPad will not affect the data that is synced between the two devices. It will only stop the iPad from backing up.

To stop syncing data between the devices, go to Settings>Account>iCloud>Saved to iCloud>Show All. Turn off everything you don't want to sync to iCloud (and therefore to the iPhone).
