Can I listen to music on Apple Watch with non-Apple earbuds?

Is it possible to Bluetooth earbuds that aren’t AirPods, and listen to your music on your watch without having to carry your phone? I know it can be done with AirPods however I don’t like the way my AirPods fit so trying to see if there’s an alternative.
