G4 power pc not recognizing external usb hard drive
usb external hard drive not recognized on older power pc macs.

I got it to work by using a usb expander port WITH A 5volt dc EXTERNAL POWER ADAPTER. I guess the older usb ports don’t have enough power to run a usb external hard drive without some help.
