My dads iPhone 8 when the wallet opens and I select a card won’t give me anything that shows it is ready to be used, for example my iPhone shows Hold the reader close or something similar. Please help me. I’m desperate.

No, I haven’t used the phone for payments like that but I was able to add the card (2 cards) and it is supposed to work.
