Problems upgrading to Sequoia.

The upgrade to Sequoia knocked out my Audio for a few days and I had to back Sequoia out of my system. I run a 2022 iMac, 2022 iPad and use an iPhone. Why are there so many issues with these products when upgraded. Would I be better off not upgrading, of possibly just not using apple products. Why is it so difficult to fix issues on this junk. Everyone does not want to be a computer tech, I would sooner have the system be more stable.

Most issues are caused by some third part software that is installed. Make sure all of your third party software is up to date. If you are using any third party audio based software (perhaps even video), then check to see if any of them have known issues with the OS update since I'm sure the support forums for those apps will have some chatter if there is a known issue.


Good luck with Windows 11 updates. Microsoft has a history of breaking things with every update to Windows. Plus MS forces the updates on you at a certain point whether you want them or not.

The issue is with the last update. All prior updates had no issues with my mixer. The latest update could not connect to my mixer. Apple, is at best a horrible computer to record on. When it is more or less working it tends to be flaky with Logic Pro, apples recording software. Basically my three year old IMac is a piece of junk for recording. Waste of space on my desk. I do thank you for your input though. Take care.

I did forget to include the other reason people have issues with their computers. If you have any anti-virus software, cleaning/optimizer apps, or third party security software installed, then they are most likely contributing to the problem as well. These types of apps are not needed on a Mac and usually causes more problems than they solve because they interfere with the normal operation of macOS at a very low level. If you have any of these types of apps installed, then uninstall them by following the developers' instructions.


Again, any macOS update can easily break these apps as well.


There are a lot of people using Macs for audio & video development, so if there was a wide spread issue, then this forum would be flooded with complaints. There has to be something unique to your setup that is contributing to your problem. I've listed the two most common reasons people will have issues after updating the OS.
