Media Playback Not switching to Proxy

Imported 8TB of 4K(4608x3164) Arri Alexa ProRes 4444 MXF files to our Lucid filespace. Since I don't have enough room to cache all the media I thought I would create proxy files. I selected the clips in browser and selected Transcode Media and selected H264 Frame Size Same as source.

In FCP when I select Proxy only or Proxy preferred playback it’s still playing the original files. I also don't see any Proxy files in Available Media representations in the Inspector. However I'm Media file location I see that it did generate Proxy Media and I can click on the revel proxy media in the browser and it points to the correct files. The files play smoothly off the media file location external SSD. But inside FCP, it stutters and is choppy.
