Why is part of the clock behind a portion of my Lock Screen picture?

It wasn’t like that until the recent upgrade. I can’t figure out how to bring the clock to the front.

Thanks again. If you ever get polled by Apple or have a chance to submit an improvement to the forum, have them change it to allow photos from screen shots that are bigger than 5 MB. Obviously there’s a practical limit. But allowing screen shots from any iPhone or iPad would seem better.

When selecting an image (including screenshots) that you intend to post here from your Photo Library, you can simply change the size of the image attachment (therefore reducing the attachment file size)...

Tap the blue options button, then select the attachment size. Often, selecting Large or Medium is sufficient to sufficiently reduce the uploaded image size.

Hello~ Did you reposition the picture? Click on below as it sounds like In Depth …

Create a custom iPhone Lock Screen – Apple Support *

*Customize your Lock Screen photo

If you choose a photo for your Lock Screen, you can reposition the photo, change the photo style, and more.

Do any of the following:

  • Reposition your photo: To reposition your selected image, pinch open to zoom in on it, drag the image with two fingers to move it, then pinch closed to zoom out.
  • Change the photo style: Swipe left or right to try different photo styles with complementary color filters and fonts.
  • Create a multilayered effect: If you have a photo that supports layering—like an image with people, pets, or the sky—tap  at the bottom right, then choose Depth Effect.

Katana-San. your answer contains the solution. Thanks so much. Apple support didn’t stumble onto that one. Apparently the issue is so new, there’s no solution database info.

For some reason, the default for Depth Effect is ON. I don’t know when that feature was added to iPad OS, but it was never ON before.

when I de-selected it, the problem disappeared.

The actual fix steps were.

go to Settings/Wallpaper

Select Customize or anywhere on the Lock Screen photo

In the lower right corner, Tap

De-select Depth Effect

tap Done

Hello~ Yes… well that’s why I enjoy participating here. I work in depth (no pun intended) with my iPad each day so I am familiar with the issues first hand. You’re most welcome and glad to have been able to assist. You take care and coming back to say thanks certainly made my day!!

Thanks for responding. It isn’t any of those. I did call Apple support and they recognized it as an issue that might cause people problems. They submitted a problem report to Apple.

i will see if the multilayered effect is on and creating the problem.

one odd thing in this forum is that you can’t post a screen shot from an iPad. The image is 6.2 MB and the forum limit for the forum is 5 MB. It’s not very convenient to go get a photo from the Photos library and change its MB on an iPad.
