Chronological Photo Order Restoration in Mac Finder for iPhone Photos

Changes to how photos made with the phone, and how they sync to the desktop have become stupid complicated. Now instead of finding my recent photos in the perfectly named folder "Recents", they are distributed over multiple categories and assembled in illogical order. I have photos made 7 years ago right next to photos made minutes ago.

If I want to add a photo to a social media post from my Desktop, I am directed to two options... "Photos" or "Recent" both in which I encounter photographs randomly collected and displayed in no particular order, from the last decade of images.

How can order be reestablished, to just display them in the Mac Finder in simple chronological order, as they made?
