If you erased the drive, then you can be assured that the data has been deleted absent someone using highly sophisticated recovery methods. If the data on it was extremely sensitive, though - government secret-level data, HIPAA-covered patient data, that sort of thing - then more extreme steps would probably be in order.
As to whether it's worth anything, you'll have to tell us what model of Mac it is and its specs before we can offer opinions.
Regards.
Thank you so much. I’m now getting a flashing question mark in the middle of the screen. Does this mean I can be assured that all my data has been deleted from the iMac?
is it worth anything or should it be recycled?
many thanks
It's ironic that you're concerned about erasing your personal data from the Mac, yet you very willingly just posted the serial number for your Mac that contains that data.
Please don't ever post serial numbers - considered personal information - in the Communities.
I've asked the moderators to edit that post.
You're welcome. 🙂
Thanks for your help. It is a 27 inch. macOS 10.15.7 Serial number CO***8J4
Many thanks
